The Holy Gospel

"And this Word is The Good News that was preached to you." — 1 Peter 1:25b

Read this in The Holy Bible! - 1 Corinthians 15 & Romans 10

The Foundation of Faith

Genesis 15:1–6

After these things the word of the LORD came to Abram in a vision: “Fear not, Abram, I am your shield; your reward shall be very great.” But Abram said, “O Lord GOD, what will you give me, for I continue childless, and the heir of my house is Eliezer of Damascus?”... And behold, the word of the LORD came to him: “This man shall not be your heir; your very own son shall be your heir.” And He brought him outside and said, “Look toward heaven, and number the stars, if you are able to number them.” Then He said to him, “So shall your offspring be.” And he believed the LORD, and He counted it to him as righteousness.

The Call to Return

Isaiah 55:6–9

Seek the LORD while He may be found; call upon Him while He is near; let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the LORD, that He may have compassion on him, and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon. "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the LORD. "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts."

The Eternal Word of Truth

1 Peter 1:22–25

Having purified your souls by your obedience to The Truth for a sincere brotherly love, love one another earnestly from a pure heart, since you have been Born Again, not of perishable seed but of imperishable, through The Living and Abiding Word of God; for “All flesh is like grass and all its glory like the flower of grass. The grass withers, and the flower falls, but The Word of The Lord remains forever.” And this Word is The Good News that was preached to you.

The Only Way to the Father

John 14:6–7

Yeshua said to him, “I AM The Way, and The Truth, and The Life. No one comes to the Father except through me.If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on you do know Him and have seen Him.”

The Promise of Healing and Forgiveness

2 Chronicles 7:12–22

Then the LORD appeared to Solomon in the night and said to him: “I have heard your prayer and have chosen this placefor myself as a house of sacrifice. When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command the locust to devour the land, or send pestilence among my people, if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land. Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayer that is made in this place. For now I have chosen and consecrated this house that my name may be there forever. My eyes and my heart will be there for all time... But if you turn aside and forsake my statutes and my commandments that I have set before you, and go and serve other gods and worship them, then I will pluck you up from my land that I have given you."

The Fulfillment of the Prophets

Luke 24:44–49

Then He said to them, “These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you, that everything written about me in The Law of Moses and The Prophets and The Psalms must be fulfilled.” Then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures, and said to them, “Thus it is written, that The Messiah should suffer and on the third day rise from the dead, and that repentance for the forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in His Name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things. And behold, I AM sending The Promise of my Father upon you. But stay in the city until you are clothed with Power from on High.”

The Suffering Servant

Isaiah 53:4–6

Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was pierced for our transgressions; He was crushed for our iniquities; upon Him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with His wounds we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned—every one—to his own way; and the LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.

The Core of the Gospel

1 Corinthians 15:1–11

Now I would remind you, brothers, of The Gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you—unless you believed in vain.

For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that The Messiah died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that He was buried, that He was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures, and that He appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. Then He appeared to more than five hundred brothers at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have fallen asleep. Then He appeared to James, then to all The Apostles. Last of all, as to one untimely born, He appeared also to me... Whether then it was I or they, so we preach and so you believed.

(Note: Read The Book of Romans in The New Covenant—specifically Chapters 9 through 11—to clearly see God's desire that all Nations be saved, and most importantly that all of Israel would repent of their sins, turn to their God in Heaven with their whole heart, and be saved. Yeshua declared in John 4 that salvation is of the Jews.)

Faith Comes by Hearing

Romans 10:14–21

How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach The Good News!” But they have not all obeyed The Gospel. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed what he has heard from us?” So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through The Word of Messiah.

God Has Not Rejected His People

Romans 11:1–11

I ask, then, has God rejected his people? By no means! For I myself am an Israelite, a descendant of Abraham, a member of the tribe of Benjamin. God has not rejected his people whom he foreknew. Do you not know what the Scripture says of Elijah, how he appeals to God against Israel? “Lord, they have killed your prophets, they have demolished your altars, and I alone am left, and they seek my life.” But what is God’s reply to him? “I have kept for myself seven thousand men who have not bowed the knee to Baal.” So too at the present time there is a remnant, chosen by grace. But if it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works; otherwise grace would no longer be grace.

Saved by Grace, Created for Good Works

Ephesians 2:4–10

But God, being rich in mercy, because of The Great Love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with The Messiah—by grace you have been saved—and raised us up with Him and seated us with Him in The Heavenly Places in The Messiah Yeshua, so that in The Coming Ages He might show The Immeasurable Riches of His Grace in kindness toward us in The Messiah Yeshua. For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is The Gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are His workmanship, created in The Messiah Yeshua for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

A Future and a Hope

Jeremiah 29:11–14

"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you, declares the LORD, and I will restore your fortunes and gather you from all the nations and all the places where I have driven you..."

The Unbreakable New Covenant

Jeremiah 31:31–37

“Behold, the days are coming, declares the LORD, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah, not like the covenant that I made with their fathers on the day when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, my covenant that they broke, though I was their husband, declares the LORD. For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the LORD: I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts. And I will be their God, and they shall be my people. And no longer shall each one teach his neighbor and each his brother, saying, ‘Know the LORD,’ for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, declares the LORD. For I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

Thus says the LORD, who gives the sun for light by day and the fixed order of the moon and the stars for light by night... “If this fixed order departs from before me, declares the LORD, then shall the offspring of Israel cease from being a nation before me forever.”

Rend Your Hearts

Joel 2:12–19

“Yet even now,” declares the LORD, “return to me with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning; and rend your hearts and not your garments.” Return to the LORD your God, for He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love; and He relents over disaster... Then the LORD became jealous for His land and had pity on His people. The LORD answered and said to His people, “Behold, I am sending to you grain, wine, and oil, and you will be satisfied; and I will no more make you a reproach among the nations."

The Ultimate Restoration

Revelation 21:1–4

Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be His people, and God Himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”
