The Light of The Everlasting Gospel

Jesus answered, “It is written,
‘Man shall not live by bread alone,
but by every Word that comes from The Mouth of God.’”
Matthew 4:4

Not by bread alone—by The Word that gives Life

When our Lord quoted Matthew 4:4, He was drawing from Deuteronomy 8:3, reminding us that true life is sustained not merely by food, but by The Word of the Living God. Bread nourishes the body for a moment; The Word nourishes the soul forever. Yeshua, the Bread of Life, says, “Whoever comes to Me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in Me shall never thirst” (John 6:35, ESV). In Him, Scripture is not only read—it is fulfilled, embodied, and offered to us as daily sustenance.

The Light of The Everlasting Gospel

“Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every Word that comes from The Mouth of God.”
Matthew 4:4

God’s Life-giving Word centers on Yeshua, the Promised Messiah, whose Resurrection was foretold and fulfilled.

“For You will not abandon my soul to Sheol, or let Your Holy One see corruption.”
Psalm 16:10

Now I would remind you, Brothers, of the Gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you—unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Messiah died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that He was buried, that He was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures, and that He appeared to Cephas, then to the Twelve. Then He appeared to more than five hundred Brothers at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have fallen asleep. Then He appeared to James, then to all the Apostles.
1 Corinthians 15:1–7

The One who rose from the dead also revealed His divine identity. To meet Him rightly is to bow in worship.

“I told you that you would die in your sins, for unless you believe that I AM He you will die in your sins.” … “When you have lifted up the Son of Man, then you will know that I AM He, and that I do nothing on My own authority, but speak just as the Father taught Me.” … “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.”
John 8:24; John 8:28; John 8:58

Because Yeshua is LORD, the Cross stands at the blazing center of God’s saving plan. We come with empty hands—He supplies the Power.

For Messiah did not send me to baptize but to preach the Gospel, and not with words of eloquent wisdom, lest the Cross of Messiah be emptied of its Power. For the Word of the Cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the Power of God.
1 Corinthians 1:17–18

Therefore, salvation is found in no one else. We must cling to the Name of Yeshua alone.

“Rulers of the People and Elders… let it be known… that by the Name of Messiah Yeshua of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead—by Him this man is standing before you well. This Jesus is the Stone that was rejected by you, the Builders, which has become the Cornerstone. And there is Salvation in no one else, for there is no other Name under Heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
Acts 4:8–12

The Stone the builders rejected has become the Cornerstone—just as Scripture promised.
Psalm 118:22–23

Some stumble, others believe—but to all who are Called, Yeshua is God’s Power and Wisdom.

For since, in the Wisdom of God, the World did not know God through wisdom, it pleased God through the folly of what we preach to save those who believe. For Jews demand signs and Greeks seek wisdom, but we preach Messiah crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and folly to Gentiles, but to those who are Called, both Jews and Greeks, Messiah the Power of God and the Wisdom of God.
1 Corinthians 1:21–24

This saving Gospel reconciles enemies to God and sends us as Ambassadors, pleading with the world to be reconciled.

All this is from God, who through the Messiah reconciled us to Himself and gave us the Ministry of Reconciliation; that is, in the Messiah God was reconciling the World to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the Message of Reconciliation. Therefore, we are Ambassadors for the Messiah, God making His appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of the Messiah, be reconciled to God. For our sake He (the Father) made Him (the Son) to be sin who knew no sin, so that in Him (the Son) we might become the Righteousness of God (the Father). Working together with Him, then, we appeal to you not to receive the Grace of God in vain.
2 Corinthians 5:18–21; 2 Corinthians 6:1

All is of Grace, so all boasting is in the Lord.

And because of Him you are in Yeshua the Messiah, who became to us Wisdom from God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption, so that, as it is written, “Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.”
1 Corinthians 1:30–31

Therefore, we fix our message on the crucified Messiah—and our lives are crucified with Him.

For I decided to know nothing among you except Yeshua the Messiah and Him crucified.
1 Corinthians 2:2

I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by Faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
Galatians 2:20

This wisdom of the Cross was planned before the ages; had rulers known, they would not have crucified the Lord of Glory.

We impart a secret and hidden wisdom of God, which God decreed before the ages for our glory. None of the rulers of this age understood this, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of Glory.
1 Corinthians 2:7–8

So our foundation is fixed: Yeshua alone.

For no one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 3:11

United to Him, God leads us in triumph and spreads His fragrance through our lives.

Thanks be to God, who in Messiah always leads us in Triumphal Procession, and through us spreads the Fragrance of the Knowledge of Him everywhere. For we are the Aroma of Messiah to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing… For we are not, like so many, peddlers of God’s Word, but as men of sincerity, as commissioned by God, in the Sight of God we speak in Messiah.
2 Corinthians 2:14–17

This ministry is not from self-sufficiency but from the Spirit of Life.

Not that we are sufficient in ourselves to claim anything as coming from us, but our sufficiency is from God, who has made us sufficient to be Ministers of a New Covenant, not of the Letter but of the Spirit. For the Letter kills, but the Spirit gives Life.
2 Corinthians 3:5–6

Therefore, we proclaim Messiah plainly. God shines His Light into our hearts.

Having this Ministry by the Mercy of God, we do not lose heart… by the open Statement of the Truth we commend ourselves… For God, who said, “Let Light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the Light of the Knowledge of the Glory of God in the Face of Yeshua the Messiah.
2 Corinthians 4:1–6

How should we respond? With humility, repentance, and faith—drawing near to God, who draws near to the contrite.

“God opposes the proud but gives Grace to the humble.” Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the Devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you… Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will exalt you.
